What's Next?

The hand-embroidered fabric above, featured in this post, unknown to me at the time, was on the front page of Etsy the day it sold (and was previously in a front page treasury back in July). THIS IS SPOOKY - I've now been on the front page of Etsy THREE times this month - what's next? The Apocalypse? World Peace? John McCain Wins By a Landslide?

My thanks to treasury curator Maria Cavallero. Do visit her Etsy shop; she creates unique and beautiful textile art jewelry!

Three Things I Love, and Sneak Peeks

Three Things I Love
1. Embroidering fern fabric, 2. Bird Tags from Mrs. Kwitty's Cottage, 3. Polka Dots in any color, and here they are, all in one place! The Red Sea Fern Fabric below has recently sold (yay!), and the Holiday Fern Fabric above is available in my Etsy shop, Catnip Studio, Too.
Sneak Peeks
Blue Bouquet, a repurposed, vintage shaker (one of a pair, hmmm, haven't decided on the color of the beaded bouquet for the second shaker, any suggestions?)
Van Gogh's Acorns, earrings of vintage acrylic olive moonglow beads and rare, iridized glass bead caps.
Snowblind, sterling silver earrings with vintage mid-century glass opals in silver and white, and freshwater pearl dangles.

Tropical Blogiday! (Monkey in the Middle Monday)

The Monkey in the Middle is on an indefinite tropical holiday! Right now, he's munching bananas on a hammock near the seashore of a monkey island resort (rumor has it he will return after the winter holidays). Visit my MIMM buddy, Steph, at Sunshine and Ravioli, for the details (and check out her sweet new autumn-themed look!). Click here for the historic scoop on Monkey in the Middle Monday, and here's some MIMM updates of mine from previous Mondays:
Lovebirds brass filigree bracelet and necklace featuring palest pink freshwater pearls, frosted glass cabochons, and La Mode brocade mother of pearl buttons.
Kitty gift/storage/crafting hang tags. The pawprint labels are on the reverse of each tag. Jewelry and tags will debut this December with Lollishops!

Oops! I Did It Again! (on October 2nd)

Twice in one month, I've been featured in an Etsy treasury that made the front page! Shameless bragging aside, this beautifully composed showcase of Etsy artists was curated by fellow Design Style Guide member Debra Linker (do visit her Etsy shop for her gorgeous original paintings). If it weren't for Google Alerts and Etsy Front Pagers - Treasury Screenshots, I would have missed seeing my sandblasted tile, Sunburst Shell, in such stunning company! Etsy Front Pagers is a Flickr group that captures and uploads front page screenshots with the names of the curator and artists included. Quite handy, if you've missed your fifteen minutes of fame. The wonders of modern technology (sigh)...

Pajama Party

Yesterday, I went to my studio in the early morning, still in pajamas and coffee cup in hand, and I didn't return to my house until mid-afternoon! Here is just a sampling of what I was doing, available now in my Etsy shop, and this December on Lollishops:
These little charmers will also be available this December on Lollishops:

Eeeekkk!!! Etsy Front Page!

Oh, happy Monday! My mosaic tray, Object of Desire, was in a treasury shown yesterday on Etsy's front page. My thanks to Etsy seller Cottage in the Sun for emailing me the news, and to the treasury curator L&B Accessories for including me in this treasury, aptly titled Denim and Rust (treasury link will expire Tuesday morning).

Ode to a Cottage Rose...

...figuratively speaking. A summer filled with evening distractions put my hand embroidery on hiatus, but I'm back on track for autumn with Cottage Rose, for sale in my Etsy shop, Catnip Studio Too.
